Courtney's Family Session with Grandpa

Friday afternoon I received a text from my old roommate asking if I can do a last minute family session. Her text said her Grandpa doesn't have much time left and she it was important to her to have pictures done with him and her girls.
I checked with one of my scheduled sessions and I was able to move some time around to do her session the next day (yesterday). She then told me her mom and her siblings wanted to join.

We met at John Paul Landing Park. I was pretty hot and humid (of course because, Houston.) and the sun was out and getting pretty harsh. I was still able to get all of these in natural light. I started with my 70-200mm and switched to my 16-80.

I am so proud of these photos. I feel like I was able to deliver all of the photos that were desired, plus capture a true cowboy who lived a good long life. These are some of my favorite portraits I have taken so far and it brings me so much joy to know that these will be cherished for a long time.

Ezra's Toy Story Themed Birthday Shoot

This has to be one of the top cutest sessions I've done so far. Ezra loves Toy Story, but in his words, he calls the movies "Story Books." (Same thing, ha!)    Ezra immediately  laid out all of his "friends" and told me how excited he was to take pictures with them.   At the beginning of the shoot I would get about 3 pictures in and he would ask to see what I captured. His excitement shows in each picture. What a wonderful spirit he is. I am so happy Dominique chose me to capture these precious moments.

Isabella's Harry Potter Themed Baby Shower at The Tea Kettle Cafe

I was lucky enough to be picked from a Facebook post by Isabella to be her photographer for this special event. We had never met, but she trusted a few referral sources and reviewed my work online. This was my first Baby Shower to be a part of, but I knew I could make some very special memories for her.  Immediately upon arriving, I could see this was a special theme for a special little girl. The line, "It's MimOsa not Mimosa" came to mind, which was perfect for this brunch.    You could tell Isabella's bestie put a lot of thought and detail into making the tiniest of details important. It's had to imagine a Harry Potter Tea Part Baby Shower, UNTIL you've been to one.. or you are reading this.. and I think they nailed it. The shower went very smooth. Then transitions from the food set up, baby games, presents, and cake were all very seamless. The two hosts from The Tea Kettle Cafe staff were wonderful with keeping everyone en

Monica's Maternity Session - Natural light, Studio, & Milk Bath

I can not say enough about how happy I am about this session! Monica and I used to work together years and years ago and Willie's Grill & Icehouse when I was maybe 17 years old (?). I am now 30! We have been Facebook friends all of these years, occasionally "liking" something the other person posted, but when she recently made a post about expecting soon, I reached out to inform her of my Maternity Special I have going on this month. Clearly, she agreed and this past Tuesday we made Baby Bump Magic! We stared in one of my rooms upstairs in my home. She wanted some natural light photos with the light coming in through the windows. A nice light and dreamy look with the lace outfit she brought.  We then moved downstairs to the garage where I set up my studio. The studio set up can be a little scary if you are not sure how the lighting and background will come out. So after taking a few shots and showing her what I was capturing, her words were "
